Follow the product and the law, not advice from a website
Every fireworks product carries instructions and warnings from its manufacturer. Those instructions are the ones that matter. No website, including this one, can tell you how to use a specific product safely – only the manufacturer and the applicable rules can.
Local authorities set rules about where and when fireworks may be used, including permitted timings during festivals. Please check and follow whatever applies in your area.
Be considerate of the people around you
- Elderly neighbours, unwell people, infants and anyone sensitive to noise are affected by loud fireworks far more than most of us realise.
- Hospitals, schools and places where animals are kept deserve a wide berth.
- Street dogs and household pets find loud fireworks genuinely distressing. Many families now choose quieter options for exactly this reason – ask us and we will show you what we have.
- Keep celebrations to the timings permitted in your area.
Sensible general habits
- Use fireworks outdoors, in open space, well away from buildings, vehicles, dry material, overhead wires and anything that can catch fire.
- Children should never be left with fireworks unsupervised. An adult should always be present.
- Keep water available nearby.
- Wear sensible clothing – loose, flowing and synthetic fabrics are a poor choice around any flame.
- Never return to a firework that has not gone off.
- Clean up afterwards, and dispose of used items responsibly.

We do not provide guidance on making, altering, dismantling, combining or modifying fireworks in any way, and we do not stock or supply anything that is not lawfully permitted for sale. If you are asking about any of these, we are not the right people to ask, and we would ask you not to attempt it.
If something goes wrong
In an emergency, contact the emergency services immediately. For a burn or an injury, seek medical attention rather than treating it at home.
Buying responsibly
Buy from a licensed physical shop. Check that the product carries the manufacturer’s markings and instructions. Store what you buy sensibly and use it promptly rather than keeping it around the house.
